The Sidley Prelaw Scholars program is designed to help underrepresented students in the field of law access the resources they need to excel in the law school application process. They are aware that the reason why many underrepresented students do not have opportunities in law is the result of a lack of resources to effectively prepare for LSAT. They have a few program offerings, including the Sidley Scholars Summer School, which is most often held in Chicago. All students selected as Sidley Prelaw Scholars have access to scholarships to ensure they can participate. All participants must complete the program and graduate from a college or university in good standing of four years. You must complete all LSAT preparation courses associated with the program. They are expected to enroll in law school in the fall after graduating from university. PLSI – Pre-Law Summer Institute for American Indians and Alaska Natives PLSI is an intensive two-month program that prepares American Indians and Alaska Natives for the rigors of law school by essentially repeating the first semester of law school. The course load consists of three substantive law courses, including Indian law, tort and another core curriculum subject that varies from year to year. Participants will also be enrolled in a legal advocacy/writing course, where they will prepare a full appeal file, including drafting a legal memorandum and brief, and present an oral hearing at the end of the two months. There are many reasons why a pre-law summer program is the right choice for an aspiring law student.

Other things to consider include the fact that there are plenty of skills that may need refreshment, including technical reading, writing, and debating. A law preparatory program could help new law students prepare for important aspects of law school while acquiring the skills to absorb the fundamental principles of law and the tools needed to be agents of change. LAWbound is an initiative of the Education Division of LatinoJustice PRLDEF and provides targeted services that address some of the most common barriers to admission to law school and help students effectively manage the law school admissions process. Suffolk Law School Summer Pre-Law Pipeline Program The Suffolk Law School Summer Pre-Law Pipeline Program is free and is designed to provide participants from diverse and non-traditional backgrounds with the tools they need to prepare successful law school applications and succeed once admitted. The 2-week program includes mini-law courses and an application workshop. It is intended for students who are 1-2 years old from applying to the Faculty of Law (juniors or seniors in college). There are a number of programs available for students from underrepresented groups to explore and pursue their interest in law.

Whether you`re a first-year student or preparing for law school, you`ll find the right opportunity for you. Memphis Law`s Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) program is designed for aspiring students and juniors from underrepresented groups in the legal profession, with the goal of building a future of justice that reflects the diversity of society. The program provides select students with a unique immersive learning experience designed to prepare them for success in law school. Students not only help participants explore their interest in law, but also build trust and community through supportive networking and mentoring relationships with various lawyers, faculty, and peers, while immersing themselves in a curriculum that specifically recognizes and addresses the challenges minor students face on their way to law school and the legal profession. The application deadline is March 31, 2022 and participants are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship and a LSAC waiver. Generously, LSAC will also provide free laptops and internet access for the duration of the PLUS online program to admitted students who require such support. Drake Law School`s Law Leadership Program is an excellent offering for up to five above-average first-year law students who come from an underrepresented community.
It is specifically aimed at first-year law students. Throughout the first year of their legal study experience, they have access to in-depth mentorship. They can also attend weekly executive education courses that take place the summer following their first year of law school. After the intensive training, each student has access to two fully paid internships at a law firm and another relevant business, both located in Des Moines.
